当今的木管乐手须是一位全能型艺术家，需要掌握多种风格且演奏大量曲目。波士顿音乐学院为木管学生提供了专业技术培训、表演机会和职业技能，这些都是未来成为职业生涯所必备的。
学院的目标是要打造多元化人才，熟练掌握各种风格和曲目。木管学生将受益于学院优秀教师的指导，不仅可以获得对乐器技术和艺术的掌握，而且还鼓励他们探索其他的乐器，以扩展他们的技巧。
为了让学生们提前感受乐团排练、工作模式，学校特别重新编排了课程设置，每两周进行一次排练和演出，包括交响乐团演出、室内乐团、弦乐四重奏等。 同时鼓励学生与同期作曲家、乐器演奏者及歌手合作，探索不同的风格和实践。
学院的木管教师都是活跃在世界舞台的表演者，他们为学生提供了有价值的职业指导和洞察力。帮助学生理解自己的身份，并协助他们确定职业目标。学生可以着重选择一位专业老师，或者也可以尝试辅修其他木管乐器。
学院也注重学生的全面发展，学生可以根据自己兴趣定制自己的课程，或在波士顿音乐学院、伯克利音乐学院修读选修课程，例如职业技能、亚历山大技法、电影学习等。在最后的毕业演出中，学生与其他乐器演奏者及歌手合作，全方面展示他们在校期间的成果。

Michael Norsworthy
波士顿音乐学院单簧管教授。
Norsworthy毕业于新英格兰音乐学院和南伊利诺斯大学，师从Richard Stoltzman、Kalmen Opperman、Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr,和Eric Mandat。他是美国著名的单簧管独奏家和室内乐演奏家，活跃在世界各地的舞台上，包括维也纳、莫斯科、纽约、西班牙、意大利、英国等等。他是波士顿现代交响乐团的单簧管首席，也做客各种著名音乐节，如阿斯本音乐节。《匹兹堡先驱评论报》评论他的演奏“声音美妙细腻且极富戏剧张力”，知名英国作曲家Michael Finnissy对他的评价是“全球最棒的单簧管演奏家之一”。
Linda Toote
毕业于曼尼斯音乐学院和耶鲁大学，师从John Wion和Thomas Nyfenger。
自2003年任教于波士顿音乐学院，现为长笛专业副教授。
Toote曾在亚特兰大交响乐团、密尔沃基交响乐团、坦帕交响乐团担任首席长笛，同时收到巴尔的摩交响乐团、底特律交响乐团和圣路易斯交响乐团邀请演出和录音。
Toote经常出现在波士顿交响乐团和Boston Pops舞台上，并且自1996年起担任Boston Lyric Opera Company首席长笛。
她曾在美国、加拿大、德国和中国台湾开展大师班课程。2009年，她担任了37届美国长笛协会年会主席，同时也是该协会董事会成员。
