专业方向除了音乐还有舞蹈、戏剧、电影和制作。全校共有超过1000名全日制本科生和研究生,以及超过2000名非全日制学生,包括再教育项目和青少年课程。

坐落于格拉斯哥市中心,RCS拥有五处专业表演场地,每年有超过500场演出,接待超过4万名观众。

这是我第一次来兰州,跟我之前去过的其他城市很不一样。我们几乎在沙漠里,这里很干净也很干燥,还很热!但我喜欢这个城市没那么拥挤,相比起我之前去过的其他城市。我还去了敦煌,很喜欢那里。

中国学生水平如何?

RCS自2006年起来中国招生,我去过上海、北京、武汉、成都、沈阳,这些地方的教学水平都很高,我们也招了一些不错的学生。

RCS约有多少中国学生?

整个学校音乐方向的有大约20-25%,键盘专业的学生大约占80-85%,我们也有一些中国学生来自新加坡,我们在新加坡也设有面试。

考RCS需要做哪些准备?

面试需要准备三首不同风格的曲目。面试我们要寻找的是有潜力、有天赋,并且音乐背景优秀的学生。面试不同于比赛,我们的重点还是要寻找有潜力的学生而不是专业演员。我们要寻找的也是眼界开阔的学生、愿意探索学校丰富资源的学生。RCS还有一个它独特的优势就是,学校除了有音乐学院,还有戏剧学院、舞蹈学院,以及电影制作学院,其他艺术形式其实更能促进音乐的学习。我们也鼓励学生探索交叉领域的可能性。比如说键盘专业每年都跟芭蕾专业合作。在过去的艺术节里曾经合作过许许多多作品,我们的钢琴学生会给舞者伴奏,这是我们每年最受欢迎的节目。这是我们学校独有的特色,学生有机会跟其他领域合作,拓展自己的视野。不仅仅是钢琴学生,其他专业都有机会将自己的专业应用到实际需求中去,而不仅仅是自己练习、纸上谈兵。

什么样的学生会被录取?

除了专业面试,我们还会跟每位申请者聊一聊,看看他们的背景、想法、将来想做什么等。我们是一所音乐学院,是培养专业表演者的地方。然而有的申请者并没有意识到这一点,他们可能专业学习并不是侧重表演的,也没有参加过很多音乐会,也没有听过很多录音。所以在交谈环节,我们想要了解申请者更多,不仅仅在音乐方面,包括其他综合方面。比方说学生喜欢什么样的音乐,甚至是流行或爵士。综合专业面试和交流的情况,我们再最终决定录取哪些学生。

学校提供奖学金吗?

我们学校有提供奖学金,但是竞争也是非常激烈的,我们会把奖学金给予最有天赋的学生。另外学校也提供补助给经济困难的学生,在英国生活的确开销也是不少的,奖学金的金额可能在学费的5-10%,也会有全奖,当然这是比较少的。奖学金的决定主要取决于面试,如果面试情况好,奖学金会自动授予你,无需再另外申请奖学金。

比起其他的音乐学院,RCS有哪些优势?

首先,在RCS学习花费比较少,我们的学费在英国所有音乐学院中可以说是最少的,另外在格拉斯哥,生活费相对伦敦来说也低很多。

其次,格拉斯哥也是一所大学城,学习氛围浓厚。有格拉斯哥大学、斯特拉斯克莱德大学、格拉斯哥卡里多尼亚大学,还有著名的格拉斯哥艺术学院,就在RCS马路对面,所以格拉斯哥是一个对学生开放度和包容性很强的城市,学生们都很热爱格拉斯哥这座城市。

还有一点值得一提的是,几乎苏格兰地区主要的表演艺术团体都坐落在格拉斯哥,比如说BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (英国广播公司苏格兰交响乐团)、Royal Scottish National Orchestra (苏格兰皇家交响乐团)也在学校对面、Scottish Opera (苏格兰歌剧院)也在不远、Scottish Ballet (苏格兰芭蕾舞团)也在不远,所以学生在RCS不仅能获得最好的学习氛围,也能很方便地接触到这些高品质的表演氛围。这里每周都有国际化的最顶尖的演出。所以说,在格拉斯哥学习,没有在伦敦那么大的生活压力,但是文化艺术氛围完全不亚于伦敦!

再者,RCS拥有相当棒的教学设施!我们有10间琴房专供钢琴系的学生使用,每件都设有施坦威Model B三角钢琴,这在其他音乐学院是很少见的。教师琴房也都是施坦威Model B的三角钢琴。

1.Performance of three contrasting works which should be of approximately Grade 8 standard or beyond. Approximately 15 minutes of the chosen programme will be heard at the audition, followed by a five minute interview.

2.Sight-reading may be given.

 

声乐:

Please note that Voice auditions may take place over two rounds. Following the first audition, you will be notified if you have been sent to the second round (first and second rounds are on the same day).

Performance:

Applicants should prepare three items, for example:

1.either any Italian Aria Antiche (e.g. from the volume entitled 24 Italian Songs and Arias, or similar or a folk song

2.An aria from oratorio (or opera)

3.An art song

Sight-reading may be given

 

小提琴:

1.Any movement from Bach’s  Sonatas or Partitas for solo violin

2.Any appropriate study (Grade 8 or equivalent standard – suggested: Kreutzer, Mazas etc.)

3.And a contrasting work – this could be a short performance piece, or a movement from a concerto or sonata, or similar

4.Scales may be required; sight-reading may be given.

 

中提琴:

1.Any movement from Bach’s Solo Cello Suites or Violin

Sonatas or Partitas

2.Any appropriate (Grade 8 or equivalent standard) study

3.And a contrasting work – this could be a short performance piece, or a movement from a concerto or sonata, or similar

4.Scales may be required; sight-reading may be given.

1.Any movement from Bach’s Solo Cello Suites

2.Any study from Popper High School of Cello Playing, op.73

Scales and arpeggios in all keys will be

Composition applicants should submit at least two compositions (preferably recent examples) together with brief analytical notes, and recorded performances and software files wherever possible.

指挥:

For Joint Principal Study Conducting, candidates will be emailed repertoire to prepare for the audition at least three weeks prior to the audition date. This will most likely be with piano accompaniment. Sight reading may also be given, and there will be aural tests and an interview. All efforts will be made to schedule both Principal Study auditions on the same day.
